I haven't read the comics so I can't speak to that level of knowledge, but I found myself enjoying the film much more than I expected. I have a lot of childhood love for this film, which deemed me weird among my peers, because it was seen as a darker children's film. It's not the best film, but at the time it was magical, and I still watch it almost every October.

I never tire of this film. It's low-budget and slightly gritty but it was a wonderful summer surprise. Sam Rockwell's performance is fantastic, and the concept and execution are pretty darn great.

You cannot wipe the smile off of my face when watching this movie. Unbridled fun.

A quiet, beautiful film that will get under your skin. Refn's direction is understated, Gosling's performance is galvanizing, and the soundtrack will keep you humming for weeks to follow. Another favorite of the year.

A haunting film that meditates on depression and paranoia with a science fiction backdrop. Kirsten Dunst gives a riveting performance. One of my favorite films of the year.
