Christian Sinclair’s review published on Letterboxd:
Disappointing end to what seemed like it would be a great trilogy. After what was a great detective film then a debatable follow up with occasional ridiculous aspects, it all comes to a conclusion with a very dull court case.
The thing that made The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo great was how it constantly had you guessing and throwing up new plot twists all the time but all this is out the window with this film which gives virtually all the necessary evidence near the start and leaves you to wonder how long they can spin it out in court before the evidence is used.
Basically, there's little cause for concern at any point.
Also, one of my criticisms of the last film was how there wasn't enough of the Blomkvist/Salander relationship that made the first film so great and this film features even less with most of their contact happening through people or through text/email.
Sad to see a the Millenium trilogy fade out with such a whimper
