I give this film a lot of love. The execution is flawless, a fantastically rendered alien world rich with detail and nuance. The script is weak, though: characters and relationships under-developed, too many bad guys, a plodding first hour that feels the need to explicate _everything_... such a shame, because it is very nearly an amazing scifi movie, instead of being a scifi movie that could have been amazing. Definitely worth checking out, though. No "Heaven's Gate" or "Ishtar" - this is quality stuff.
