To be honest, after getting very excited by finally seeing this when I got it on DVD soon after the format was invented, and watching it with my future wife, it was all a bit pants. I'd obviously seen a lot of what it inspired due to the whole time displacement thing but that doesn't excuse the laughable collision detection in action in every fight. It was really quite bad. I had to agree with my good lady, who was never going to like it in the first place!
