Dan Gillam’s review:
It was time for me to watch another film from my year of birth and Jacob's Ladder was a film I'd be wanting to see for a long time. It's a very odd story, that is craftily written and varied, combining many genres such as thriller, war, horror, mystery and drama.
I'm not always that impressed by Tim Robbins, but I thought his performance was a solid one. The key to this film is the story, which will have the audience questioning the eventual outcome from scene-to-scene, and films that have the ability to do that are for the most part very enjoyable. The story is very well-written and it's full of purposely perplex moments, even if the ending is a bit predictable.
Certainly worth watching if you haven't already as it is such a stimulating and engaging story.
