I'm actually pretty confused on how to rate this one. I was a big fan of the original trilogy, I found that it captured a lot of things I remember from comic books and Spider-man cartoons of my childhood.
On the one hand, it was a decent Spider-man movie. Andrew Garfield is a great Peter Parker. The action sequences were nicely done.
On the other hand, a lot of the movie was spent setting up things that was already setup in the original trilogy. Dr Connor becoming the Lizard. The origin story, although slightly modified, didn't really need to be retold. The whole story about Peter's parents could have been done with a 3 minute flash back sequence. The Uncle Ben story and so on.
Overall, I was still entertained. Now with the origin story out of the way, I'm curious to see what they can do with Amazing Spider-Man 2.
