Chungking Express 1994

danielm’s review:
There is nothing quite like your first Wong Kar Wai experience, and Chungking Express was my first. Everything about it blows right through you and makes you feel things even before you're sure why you're feeling what you're feeling.
The styling is unbelievable. To me, this is as artistically amazing as Chinese films get. At every juncture he makes small but critical choices that transform the film into a really powerful experience. The stories themselves are relatively simple and straightforward, but they really build onto the style to make something utterly unforgettable.
You can't help but feel a little differently about what's possible in film after watching this.
have you seen fallen angels?
Not yet. Is it good?
Wait until you see In the Mood for Love. It's simply brilliant.
Fallen Angels is also a great film.
@danielm i like it better than chungking express, but that's just my personal preference. i agree with walter, in the mood for love is probably his best film. check them out! but avoid my blueberry nights like the plague.
@Simone I've seen this one a bunch of times now and I just love it more and more every time. I'll check out Fallen Angels.
@Walter I look forward to watching it.
Absolutely agree
@AdamMcA Let me know what you think when you watch it.
