Jason Marc Schoener’s review:
I haven't seen this movie in many, many, many years, but when I had fond memories of it. So when Target had the Blu-Ray for $5, I just had to pick it up. Surprisingly, it holds up quite well. Some of the special effects are dated, and there's absolutely nothing mind blowing about it. But it is still a fun sci-fi action film that keeps you entertained. Kurt Russell is his usual bad ass, and Spader plays the nerd. And the little character development there is (Kurt Russell's son accidentally shot himself) comes across as shallow and cheap. And Emerich is about as subtle as a sledge hammer. All in all, still cheesy, still simple, butstill fun.
