Two-Lane Blacktop 1971
A great minimalist "road movie". I'm a huge James Taylor fan, and I love Warren Oates, so I was sure I'd love this movie, and I did. Visually it's great, and has great performances by a partially unprofessional cast. Makes me wish I could just take off on a drive across the country.

Five Easy Pieces 1970
A good time watching Jack Nicholson being Jack Nicholson. He drifts through different situations, working on a oil rig, messing around with Sally Struthers, playing piano on the back of a truck in a traffic jam. Finally he ends up at his family's home, to visit his ailing father. The main thing that happens in "Five Easy Pieces" is Jack Nicholson interacting with others, his girlfriend, co-workers, family members, and it's pretty fun to watch. My favorite scene is in a diner with Jack trying to get a special breakfast order. I'd forgotten how much fun Jack Nicholson can be. This movie reminded me.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 2012
Great. I have no complaints. Loved the characters, loved the effects, loved the action. I can't wait to see the next two. It's also great to see the characters that were in the Lord of the Rings trilogy show up again here.

Below the Belt 1980
A "Rocky" styled underdog movie set in the world of professional wrestling. It gives a very gritty, dirty look at that world, with a very "documentary" feel at times. While the main story isn't always that interesting, it is fun to see a lot 70's/80's character actors in action.
