First off. Mark Webb? Seriously? OK, now that's out of my system, my thoughts on the actual film. I found it an enjoyable retelling of the story, once I'd accepted "Oh OK, they really are going to change pretty much everything" and I'd stopped being distracted by the fact that Sally Field was playing Aunt May. The fight sequences and the swooping were well executed, and Peter Parker is funny and cool in this version, which works. However, a couple of things were left unresolved, and not in a "fodder for the inevitable sequel" kind of way. You'll see what I mean if you watch it yourself.
