Still my fave from Jia Zhangke, found it the first time it was made when he was still a student in film school.The only thing I want to say is Jia nails it,everything,the history background,the story,the characters,this is the most "realistic" Chinese film I've ever seen,it's the film I would say to myself after watching:"yes,this is exactly how a small Chinese town look like back in 1997"
