Ash Boomstick’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film had nothing really new to offer and looks like many other action/sci-fi flicks. That was the surface, but under that was an experience that I really enjoyed. This film does not lead you by the hand and I really enjoy that aspect. A brooding Shannon is always a good addition and no one broods like him. The twist, if it is a twist? You do not know where the characters are coming from and you have no idea where they will end up so a twist could only be if there were some form of structure.
A very deep film with what seems to be a shallow promise. Was not expecting much but I was entertained, moved, confused and suprised.
There was also a Superman reference that made me chuckle, especially since Shannon was Zod the great and powerful.
Oh, also a bit of Dunst, yep last outing I saw her was the Raimi Spiderman series. Little Vader is also present with a Sheldon Cooper thing going on.
