This was a disappointingly shallow chronicle of the early 2000s NYC alt-rock scene that doesn’t offer much new information for those who lived through this era other than having yet another reason to hate Ryan Adams. The early concert footage is quite fun to watch, which is probably the only reason to check this doc out. The filmmakers honestly should have made this a miniseries with each episode devoted to each band, but they likely didn’t have the resources to pull that off, and frankly no one needs 60 uninterrupted minutes of Interpol’s backstory.
