LEGO Batman: The Movie - DC Superheroes Unite 2013
If you've played through the video game of the same name, you won't find much new here. I'd recommend it for kids of all ages that haven't played the game.

Chupacabra vs. The Alamo 2013
One of the worst SyFy originals I've ever seen, but I'm not sure if I mean that in a good way or bad way.
The chupacabras look like hairless Chihuahuas. It doesn't help the movie when it looks like the good guys are blasting puppies!
The green screen shots look like they were done at least 30 years ago using rear projection.
My favorite way to watch these is with tongue firmly in cheek while live tweeting with others. Here…

My Neighbor Totoro 1993
I don't often use words like magical, endearing and delightful when talking about movies because I'm usually watching a horror or sci-fi flick but Totoro is definitely all those things.
This was my first venture into Miyazaki films and I can't wait to check out more. The English dub felt it was just as good as the original voice recordings. The actors are there to act and not just provide something to listen to.

Ray Harryhausen: Special Effects Titan 2012
An amazing look back at Harryhausen's work with commentary by the likes of Speilberg, Cameron, Landis, Lasseter as well as Phil Tippet and Dennis Murren.

Spiders 2013
Everything I could fault this movie for, is exactly what endears the monster movies of the 50s and 60s to my heart. That's the best way I could describe this, it's just a good old fashioned monster movie (with better effects). As long as you're not expecting anything more, and why you would be I couldn't imagine, you should enjoy the ride.

Sorority Party Massacre 2013
The pre-credits scene feels very Scream inspired and setup the killer to possibly be a fun personality. Sadly it doesn't carry through on that promise.
There's a nice montage sequence which sets up each girl with plenty of time to highlight their...assets. But really almost none of their traits matter throughout the movie.
The kills lack oomph aside from the initial one because we're seeing the results of it along with the characters instead of stalking the victim with the…

FDR: American Badass! 2012
I can't even begin to describe the insanity of this movie. The only way you'll know if it's for you is to watch the trailer. If you find it funny, absolutely check out the movie.

Chrome Angels 2009
If this had has-beens starring in it, it could be a SyFy original movie.
A bad girl biker group robs banks. They hole up in a town not on the map before making their way to Mexico and find the town is populated with...androids?
The plot is out there and the effects are a tiny step below SyFy movies. A little nudity might have made this recommendable, but if you enjoy the SyFy movies for whatever reason, give this a shot.

Oz: The Great and Powerful 2013
If you're planning on seeing this and are on the fence about spending the extra for 3D and/or IMAX, do it. The 3D really makes the movie pop and there's a few sequences that are like being on an amusement park ride.
If you love the 1939 MGM Wizard of Oz, there's no reason you wouldn't enjoy this.

Creep Van 2012
This horror/comedy definitely falls into the so bad it's kinda good category. The acting, plot and characters are pretty much window dressing for a couple of boob shots here and some decent gore there.
I think it could have been vastly improved if there was no human killer and the tricked-out-for-murder van was sentient.

Death Race: Inferno 2013
The original Death Race 2000 is one of my favorite B-movies and when I heard they were doing a reboot/remake/whatever the hell you want to call it a few years ago, I didn't like the idea. While it failed to capture what made the original such a good time, this franchise has managed to evolve into its own thing.
These aren't great movies by any means but they're definitely good mindless entertainment. If there were ever a franchise Michael Bay should be handling it's one where people drive heavily modified vehicles and lots of stuff blows up.
