Hmm...did I expect too much of this? Probably. The trailers seemed to be slightly misleading in that they portrayed it as being a slightly darker Spiderman when it's actually still a massive cheese-fest of a comic book movie.
Got a bit bored of them doing the origin part of the story again, I'd have preferred them to have just jumped straight into the story without having waste 40 minutes explaining it all.
As it is...it's not a bad movie. I thought Andrew Garfield fit into the suit well and gave the character more of the quick-wittedness that was missing from the Maguire ones.
The problem with the film is the massive list of plot holes and reliance on the audience dumbing down to a large extent. And again, some of it is so cheesy I was cringing in my seat (crane scene?! *shudder*).
Anyway, it's decent enough - but I think they missed a massive chance to do something actually Amazing with Spiderman.
(p.s. I also really missed the Danny Elfman theme music. Soundtrack in this is forgettable at best - the only bit I remember was a Coldplay song. I think that sums it up!)
