Letterboxd — Your life in film

As far as I am concerned this movie has nothing to do with the previous Die Hard films. Just because Bruce is in it and he plays McClane doesn't make this a Die Hard movie. There are some nice action sequences in it, very over the top! However the slow motion parts are gorgeous. While watching I kept feeling I was watching any other action movie rather then a Die Hard flick with the appropriate jokes, the humor and the lot. More disappointing then Die Hard 4, which was already steering away from the great first 3 Die Hard movies.

Despite some tens moments during the film in the end the whole product remains a bit shallow. Is Cusack getting old? Liked Malin Åkerman .

A decent popcorn movie. Famke Jansen plays a nice witch, didn't care much for the other witches. The lead duo is a bit to into 'now' with all their 'modern' gadgets, weaponry and fighting style. The gore is more laughable then scary, like I said, popcorn movie.

It's like an extend episode of Blue Bloods ... with a different cast, only longer. I kept looking at Russell Crowe's hair, it looks like the hair of Donald Trump. Did watch it in one go, so it has some appeal to it.

De mix van voice over, historische fragmenten en Rotterdamse taferelen spraken mij wel aan. Het ontzettend snelle acteerwerk van Jan Smit en enkele andere acteurs irriteerde mij, wat jammer is want andere acteurs in de film kwamen wel tot goed spelen. Rotterdamse dialogen altijd +1.

So cool to enjoy a movie and learn something in the progress.

Jack Reacher is someone you should know nothing about ...
Having overheard a friend talk about 'Jack Reacher', I wasn't expecting much but ended up really enjoying it. On the surface it's a pretty standard action-thriller (which I happen to like), but what makes the story work are the elements of detective-noir thrown in the mix (think of 'The Pelican Brief' here). Oh ... and if someone offers you a hat ... !

Secret police was kind of soft, not very convincing. Well known cast, script and plot did not really provide them to produce a good film.
