    12 Rounds 2: Reloaded 2013

    ★★★ Watched 26 May, 2013

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Just as you thought the movie is not a B film after all (acting from Randy Orton, WWE superstar, is ok for a first lead. As is the rest of the acting up until ... ) the lady lieutenant screams "STOP, cover all exits, I'll handle this!" after a gazillion cops let a car get away which was completely surrounded and drove into a huge parking lot.

Sure lady, handle it, all x amount of stories of that parking garage...

One other pet peeve I have is the title. Is it '12 Rounds Reloaded' or '12 Rounds 2' ... Can't have it both ways, I think!

Best if you don't read, watch or know anything about this movie ... because it will have you on the edge of your seat (so, stop reading;-). Great twists and turns into an unknown world of illegality!

They brought back the Fright Night vampire beaks! OMG ... How to race trough a film and still manage to pull of some cool effects never seen before is nothing short of amazing. That burning bridge scene with the train is pretty cool, right? The rest ... not so much. Wish everyone who makes vampire movies would get their story/'facts'/death method straight. I mean burying vampires?!? Come on. Walking in daylight? This isn't freakin' Bon Temps! I cannot get over these facts. But I still liked it, even enjoyed it.

Tries hard for a message, but is quite predictable. Strong cast, with a thin story.

Different take on sci-fi visualization then most films out there. It has a big dip in the middle of the movie. With exciting beginning and end. Will Smith is a little stiff. Jaden is ok.

  • A Good Day to Die Hard

A Good Day to Die Hard 2013

    ★★½ Watched 22 May, 2013

As far as I am concerned this movie has nothing to do with the previous Die Hard films. Just because Bruce is in it and he plays McClane doesn't make this a Die Hard movie. There are some nice action sequences in it, very over the top! However the slow motion parts are gorgeous. While watching I kept feeling I was watching any other action movie rather then a Die Hard flick with the appropriate jokes, the humor and the lot. More disappointing then Die Hard 4, which was already steering away from the great first 3 Die Hard movies.

Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas are doing very well int his movie! Little shallow/quick on the villain storyline but the comedy saves it, I guess.

Hate the Evangeline Lilly wig, love Corey Stoll as a bad guy.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Watching the first 18 minutes I felt like watching the Blair Witch Project all over again (which is not a good thing). Apollo 18 gives the illusion of being filmed in the 70's with camera's, and celluloid effects from that era. That alone makes it very irritating to watch. I'm sure the creators set out to establish a real life feel while using such techniques but they had the opposite effect on me. Was ready to abandon this film but…
