Letterboxd — Your life in film

Loved HFR in combination with 3D. Loved seeing all the old characters back in action. Loved the detail throughout the movie as was the case with the LOTR films. Loved the CGI, trolls were great, Erebor was great, Gollum was great. Can't wait for part 2 & 3.

What a ride :-). Looper is the best film I've seen this year! From start to finish you will be entertained.

Love this reboot! Of course anyone is going to compare this to the Raimi's Spiderman movies, those had good parts and some less ones. So does this, I liked a lot of scenes, couple could have been better compared to Spider-man. But on it's own, this movie is really likable. Sometimes it goes to fast. I am just a sucker for the whole transition phase. Going from Parker to Spiderman with the suit and discovering his super powers cannot be dragged out long enough for me. Andrew Garfield is great!

Loved it! A roller coaster of a movie where the pace goes up and down. Excellent opening scene followed by quietness and excitement along the way. Oh ... and the font used for the title really sucks!

Best if you don't read, watch or know anything about this movie ... because it will have you on the edge of your seat (so, stop reading;-). Great twists and turns into an unknown world of illegality!

Jack Reacher is someone you should know nothing about ...
Having overheard a friend talk about 'Jack Reacher', I wasn't expecting much but ended up really enjoying it. On the surface it's a pretty standard action-thriller (which I happen to like), but what makes the story work are the elements of detective-noir thrown in the mix (think of 'The Pelican Brief' here). Oh ... and if someone offers you a hat ... !

Absolutely intense moments as the plane goes down at the beginning of the movie, it's like you're there in person. After that you think the movie takes a small dive at times but gets right up with some unexpected events. Very well acted by Denzel Washington. Although this flick is categorized as drama it still has a 'happy' end in my opinion.
