Slow paced male bonding movie. Though well shot and scored, underwhelming on the whole. Perhaps I'm not the target viewer. Rob, my entire reason for wanting to watch it, was cute and amusing, but I enjoy him more in the familiar setting of Would I Lie To You?, a panel show with a cast of quick witted celebs and comedians who generally pick on the wee Welshman. But I digress.
If I analyze it, it's sweet. Two friends going around the countryside taking shots at one another, ending up in a somber cemetery, discussing Rob's funeral arrangements and letting slip some nuggets of guy love.
We see Rob enjoying family life while Steve sleeps around with nearly every woman he can find, the former staying loyal to his wife and newborn baby. Steve is nonplussed by Rob's apparent mediocrity, maybe even baffled by his satisfaction with his lot in life.
It's not the sort of movie I'm used to and I probably won't be looking for more in its genre, but there's something to be said for it.
