Sleepy Hollow 1999
Part 3 of my Johnny-Depp-Marathon at his 50th birthday.
Yeah, well. It's not exactly his birthday anymore. But anyway I watched this horror/fantasy/detective/comedy-movie by Tim Burton.
First time on Blu-ray and in the original language - and it was so much better, even though I wasn't as scared of the headless rider as I had been back then, when I had watched 'Sleepy Hollow' for the first time. But instead there were a lot of puns on genre-classics I finally got.

Dead Man 1995
Part 2 of my Johnny-Depp-Marathon at his 50th birthday.
As expected, Dead Man is not exactly a film I would attribute as easy entertainment. But instead, it is just a pleasure to think about, how a Western normally acts its way through a story and experiencing a whole new way of narration in a genre, filled with icons and standards - Jarmusch making genre-cinema? Nobody could actually believe this would have happened.

Lost in Translation 2003
When a movie starts with a shot of Scarlett's butt, you know that the people behind the camera know, what they're doing.
Wonderfully captured story of two lost souls finding each other in the exactly right moment.
