Richard Doyle’s review:
This is really a wonderfully entertaining movie. First, you take the disaster film scenario with a plane populated with charismatic-but-past-their-prime characters actors like Martin Balsam, Joey Bishop, George Kennedy and Shelley Winters. Second, you have the plane hijacked by wild-eyed terrorists led by Robert Forster. Third, you sic a squad of elite commandos after them, led by Lee Marvin, Chuck Norris and Steve James. Finally, you populate the movie with as many kick ass gimmicks you can think of, like motorcycles with rocket launchers. The result is corny, overly earnest, far too dumb for it's own good, and far more entertaining that 5 average Hollywood action pics strung together. I simply love this dumb little movie.
