Demons 2 1986
Rewatched Jun 05, 2012
Ian Woolstencroft’s review:
Rather than continue the story in the post apocalyptic vein hinted at in the first films climax (presumably because it would have cost too much) we get a tired rehash of the first film, this time in an apartment building instead of a cinema. It even copies the 'bunch of morons driving around in a car for half the film' bit that was the weakest part of Demons. In fact the only thing new it has to offer is where it draws its inspiration. Demons was in love with Raimi's Evil Dead, Demons 2 (misguidedly) chucks Gremlins/Critters into the mix.
A lazy and pointless sequel.
It also massively rips off Videodrome
I think it is a trully terrible film, why people like it is beyond my comprehension,
Thanks Stuart, I should have mentioned Videodrome. I just can't see why anyone would choose to watch this when it's just a very inferior copy of the first one. It's one of the most unimaginative sequels I've ever seen and a real missed opportunity to continue the story from where part 1 ends.
