Die Hard 2 1990

Ian Woolstencroft’s review:
Bigger isn't always better and that's certainly the case with Die Hard 2. For a long time I didn't like this film, it's OTT action sequences (particularly McClane's escape from the exploding plane) and plot contrivances (I can just about accept the same shit happening to the same guy twice but sticking Bonnie Bedelia and William Atherton on the same plane is pushing things a little too far) weren't what I wanted in a Die Hard sequel. These days though I've come to enjoy it for what it is, namely a dumb action movie, rather than hate it for what it isn't. It's still weak in the villain department though, William Sadler's s good actor but he lacks the charisma of Alan Rickman.
