John C. Reilly is great here, as usual, in this high school drama/comedy. Too bad he disappears for much of the third act. There is some sweet stuff here, and some good performances, but all in all, it's just too bland. There are some fun and interesting scenes, but there are a lot of unnecessary scenes as well.
