This is a really great film. It is so comfortable in it's own skin - knows exactly what it's going for and the two main characters which carry the film are perfectly cast.
Great soundtrack, heart-breaking non-traditional love story. Takes chances and doesn't go down the generic narrative route.

Interesting, but so slowly paced that it can become fairly boring if you're not fully into it.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004
The greatest modern comedy. The writing is superb, the cast is stellar and the atmosphere is developed so well. You either buy in or you don't and this film is one I could watch anywhere, anytime. Simply brillant.

Another Earth 2011
A very, very interesting film. I really have to see it again. Opens with a very science-fiction plot and delves into a wonderful character drama.
Brit Marling is a talent to watch, what a great actress - her performance in this is amazing.
I admit I spent a lot of time focusing on the other earth and the sci-fi plot, probably too much since the movie isn't entirely about that. And because of that, I wanted more. But upon reflection…

Argo 2012
Ben Affleck, argo fuck yourself.
Seriously though, this film is a solid well-acted, well-written thriller/drama. They made the story very cinematic but went for the "FUCK YEAH AMERICA" thing way too much. I can see now why it is going to contend for Best Picture.
So many scenes are just there for the sake of trying to get the audience on the edge of their seats or trying to make us feel for Affleck's character. This film is very ho-hum,…

Atonement 2007
Very interesting film. Visually pleasing, very very restrained, and there are some very good performances here.
Ultimately though, I found it pretty dull and boring for a lot of the film. There were some very interesting parts but I was never captivated or very interested in the fortunes of the characters.

Before Sunrise 1995
A very good film, the dialogue felt like it was trying too hard to be profound and intellectual. Maybe it worked, I'm still not sure. But a very, very good film.
