Can I just wish that Christoph Waltz continues to do movies with Tarantino for a long time?!?
This movie was a brilliant homage to westerns with the music and the quick closeups and the shoot-em-outs. It was nice to see Waltz in a role as a bounty hunter who could kill a man dead without thinking in order to collect a prize but so dismayed by the cruelty of slavery that he nearly blows his cover when incognito.
Jamie Foxx plays alongside him very well, and you couldn't help but root for Django to go on his epic quest to rescue his Brunhilda.
A+ casting, nice soundtrack and wonderful costumes (some, like Mrs. Lincoln's dresses and necklace in one scene were dead-on for pieces the people wore at the time). Whenever one would say a movie simply about the ratification of one amendment is coming out, some might immediately classify it as boring and never think of it again. I wouldn't as I adore history, and you shouldn't either! It was incredibly good and I recommend everyone go out and see it! Perfection!
