When it comes to Seth McFarlane, most of his writing is usually hit or miss for me. So when I first saw the advertisements for TED needless to say I was pretty skeptical at first. Mainly, because we've seen it all before. An idiot main character who lives with a creature who shouldn't be able to talk, and has a really hot significant other. Despite the familiarities, TED really hit a home run for me.
TED is what Toy Story would be if reality was induced on Andy & Woody 30 years later. Seth McFarlane dared to ask the questions Pixar would never attempt. What if these 2 lovable bastards grew up and never stopped being kids. What shenanigans would ensue? And I must say, I loved the answers that it gave. Seth McFarlane may not be treading new scope in his career here, but in the case of TED sometimes the artist should do what he does best. This is a fun movie and will have you laughing just about every 5 seconds.
