  • The Paperboy 2012

    ★★★ Rewatched 06 Sep, 2013

A vaguely interesting, if not unoriginal story that's elevated by great performances from most of the cast. However it's thwarted by its directors lack of control and heavy handedness.

  • The Inbetweeners Movie 2011

    ★★½ Rewatched 04 Sep, 2013

It's not big, it's not clever, it's vulgar and crass, but hey I still enjoyed it enough two years down the line.

  • Beverly Hills Cop 1984

    ★★★★½ Rewatched 02 Sep, 2013

Martin Brest really should have directed more films. When you take this and Midnight Run you've got two of the most purely entertaining movies of their time.

This still maintains all it's charm, it's Murphy at his charismatic best.

  • The Crazies 1973

    ★★★½ Rewatched 02 Sep, 2013

Still holds up very well 40 years later. If the film could keep up the confusion, tension and pace of the first 40 minutes throughout then it would be heralded as a classic.

  • Drive Angry 2011

    ★★★½ Rewatched 02 Sep, 2013

Still ranks as a film that so much better than it has any right to be. Cage is doing what Cage does best and Amber Heard is always a delight to watch.

  • Kick-Ass 2 2013

    ★½ Watched 01 Sep, 2013

Replaces the with & the heart of the first film with pointlessly overblown gore and juvinality. A pointless and at points nasty film.

These characters didn't deserve such a bad sequel. Only watchable because most performances are decent.

    Massive disappointment.

  • Rewind This! 2013

    ★★★ Watched 01 Sep, 2013

Nostaligia and the obsessiveness of collectors is explored well. However the film at points seems to get confused about it's intentions.

  • Now You See Me 2013

    ★★★½ Rewatched 31 Aug, 2013

Still very enjoyable on a second watch. It's flawed but like the magic it depicts you only start seeing it's tricks after it plays out.

  • The Rum Diary 2011

    ★★★ Rewatched 31 Aug, 2013

Depp's best film for around a decade, although you could argue he's the weakest element in the film. Ribisi does crazy as good as anybody!

  • Iron Man 3 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 29 Aug, 2013

Finally got round to this. Been so pumped for this film, not because it's a new Iron Man film, because it's a new Shane Black film.

It's certainly my favourite Avengers film to date, but like all the others it never really wowed me. I found it repeated itself a lot and was often reaching a bit far with it's story.

  • Lucky Number Slevin 2006

    ★★★½ Rewatched 30 Aug, 2013

One of those films that seems to get a rough ride from many. It's overly complicated and bits don't fit as perfectly as it wants. However the script is very Shane Black in it's bounce, and at least it try's to be interesting.

  • Fool's Gold 2008

    ★★½ Rewatched 30 Aug, 2013

Was on TV and ended up watching it. I'll be honest it's not the fits time either. Yeah it's not great, but I ain't ashamed to say that I kind of enjoyed it.
