Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps 2010 ★★★½

Watched Mar 27, 2012

No longer is the main focus on Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) but his apparent son in law (Shia LeBoeuf) who is a Wall Street genius in his own right. The movie slices through the internet hype, the following dotcom bubble burst, all the way through to the credit swaps and housing bubble starting in 2008. This allows director Oliver Stone to inject a very believable (back)story line into an otherwise rather flimsy main story about alternative energy, boy meets girl and girl rejects father. Too bad about the rather foolish second twist in the end. Oh, and let's not forget the great cameo from Charlie Sheen.
