Duncan Stripp’s review:
Yes, it's visually stunning. Yes, the filmmaking talent on display here is closer to art. Yes, its acted beautifully. Yes, there are dinosaurs!! But when it comes down to it this is a hard slog to watch. The story of a family in the 50's, and the eldest son's stormy relationship with his father and his trouble as a adult with what happened to his brother. Taking in the creation of the universe and the first sparks of life on earth, a lot of the time you expect David Attenborough to start narrating it. Impressive, yes, but leaves the viewer cold and feeling they are sitting in a modern art gallery
