Zombie Holocaust 1980
Mediocre zombie/cannibal -film which was partly filmed on the sets of Lucio Fulci's 'Zombi 2' but is unable to compete.
The story isn't that bad at all, it just has flaws in it. The terrible dubbing isn't helping either and is just excluding the audience from the film.
The first part of the film is pretty boring (lame dialogues, crappy acting), but the second part, when they arrive on the Islands, is much more interesting. Tension rises at some moments,…

StageFright: Aquarius 1987
Great horrorfilm by Soavi which joins the elements of the Italian giallo's and the 80's slasherfilms. The storyline and locations are kept relatively simple which makes the film easy to follow.

Fracture 2007
Not really a 'whodunnit'-kind of movie, since we already know who the killer is. The entertaining about this film is that it's all psychological and Hopkins is just playing a game with Gosling. A game played so well, that the tension between them rises throughout the film up to a great plot-twist.
Very strong acting from both Hopkins and Gosling. Some great cinematography here & there. Even some subtle humour from time to time, which falls right in it's place throughout the screenplay.
Definitely worth watching if you like psychological thrillers.

El Cid 1961
Myself, I am fond of epic movies. Lawrence of Arabia, Ben Hur, Achilles, The ten commandments...I found El Cid to be a mix of Ben Hur and Lawrence of Arabia, but I'm not sure if people will agree with me on that.
Even though this movie is 50 years old, it goes through the story with great speed. The story appears to jump or skip large sections several times, once again leaving the viewer wondering what vital moments were missed…
