The Devils 1971
A truly eery film in the best sense. Ken Russell manages to blend old with new in this incredible adaptation of Aldous Huxley's The Devils of Loudun. Oliver Reed is captivating and Vanessa Redgrave's performance sent shivers down my spine. The soundtrack adds to the progressive feeling of dread and Ken Russell's direction adds to this.

Alien: Resurrection 1997
The fourth instalment in the Alien franchise is often overlooked, however it has a lot more to offer than people think. Personally, I feel that it is the second best Alien film, after the original of course. Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Joss Whedon took the franchise into a new and interesting direction and if one was to give time, he would find a lot to take out of it. The Prestige 2006
A brilliantly directed film by Chris Nolan (as usual really). An enthralling tale of deceit, deception and obsession, with a great central performance from Christian Bale and well backed up by the ever present Michael Cain. Only bad points are Scarlett Johansson and Hugh Jackman's accents. P.S - any film with a David Bowie cameo gets a massive thumbs up from me!
