Ross Maclean’s review:
Nowhere near the bullshit PR fluff piece you might expect. It's hardly investigative but it does paint a pretty multi-dimensional picture of Ms Perry.
The music is good and the stage show is spectacular so the concert elements are suffieciently fulfilled. As a look at her life off-stage it's surprisingly touching as it fairly candidly deals with her marriage breakdown and, y'know what, just a little bit inspirational in its retelling of her struggle to reach where she is now.
She might overplay the lovable freak routine a bit but her dedication comes across without feeling like she's playing up for the cameras.
Have at you, haters.
"The music is good?"
So I'm guessing the soundtrack to her story is consisting of other peoples' music, then?
I liked Perry better when she thought, correctly, that the only interesting thing about her is her cleavage.
I dare say if you don't much like her or her music, you're not going to like the film. Go figure.
