The Avengers 2012
Superheroes punch other people in the face, Loki is magnificent and things get blown up. What more do you need to know?

The Dark Knight Rises 2012
This review reportedly contains spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Looper 2012
I love Brick so a combination of Rian Johnson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sci-Fi was always going to sit well with me. It was smart and action-packed future fun. Sure the final act played out exactly as you would expect but I was too busy enjoying watching Gordon-Levitt play Bruce Willis playing Bruce Willis-action-hero-man to care. Those eyebrows were pretty distracting too.

The Cabin in the Woods 2012
I don't like horror films so the first half wasn't that great for me, but after the "twist" it was actually rather fun.
"Thanks zombie hand!"

Life of Pi 2012
Visually stunning, this was a heartfelt and faithful adaptation of the book.

The Hunger Games 2012
I was lucky enough to win a couple of free tickets to see this at the O2 Arena in Greenwich thanks to Digital Spy. I enjoyed as much as the first time around.

Wreck-It Ralph 2012
I was lucky enough to see a preview of this today and boy oh boy was it good.
Just seeing sonic and bowser on screen made me explode with joy, never mind the ton a little references, jokes, puns and quips along the way. The plot is funny and sweet without being overly saccharine (impressive considering the literal amount of sweets on display in Candyland) and of course as it's Disney we learn the importance of friendship, being nice to each other and y'know being your self. Total bliss from start to beautiful 8-bit credit-filled finish.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2012
I really enjoyed it, I was never that keen on Toby Maguire in the first Spiderman, I think Andrew Garfield is better suited to the role, he’s much more gawky and lanky and attractive. The best parts of the film are definitely when Peter Parker and Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacey (who I’ve liked ever since Easy A) are sparking off one another. They manage to do the whole awkward stuttering teenage thing without it being completely annoying (Kristen Stewart take…
