Thanks for the suggestions, also remembered Mystery Men. Not going to include Superhero Movie just cause it's a parody... also adding it to any list would make me feel a little sick I think.
Boy Wonder, Death of a Superhero, Meteor Man, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Unbreakable and PUSH (yes push had a comic but that happened in response to the movie versus being the inspiration for said movie)
Both are satisfying in their own way. In Death of a SuperHero - the hero manifests himself in a boys imagination - a boy wIth cancer, and he uses it at a copIng mechanism.
Oops hit the post button before I was ready. Boy Wonder is a story about a kid who witnesses his mothers murder and grows up obsessed with finding the killer. So he goes out of the way to train himself in self defense and lives a dual life as student by day vigilante by night. The key point is he is obviously does so without any super powers. A very realistic portrayal of the psychological changes that happen to a person when they start playing judge, jury and executioner - deciding who is wrong and who is right - and serving up the equitable punishment.
The Incredibles
Hancock
Superhero Movie
Blankman?

Have you seen Special? It's a pretty great movie!
I LOVED Super, it was one of my favorite films of 2010.
I haven't, I'll definitely check it out though.
Hi Kevin, I take you never read the Flaming Carrot Comics where the Mystery Men came from?

@Steve - No, were they any good?
@MONIROM - I can't believe I forgot Unbreakable, one of my favorites. How was Boy Wonder and Death of a Superhero?
