    A film with no ideas.

Really is as bad as they say.

  • Star Trek 2009

Boy, this diminishes a lot on repeat viewings. The story is absolute rubbish and it coasts through almost entirely on the amiability of its cast.

The first ten minutes utterly outshine the rest of the movie, too, despite the fact that anyone familiar with Trek knows that single-nacelled ships basically don't exist.

  • Iron Man 3 2013

    ★★★★ Watched 25 Apr, 2013

A return to form and probably the best "comic-book-style" superhero movie since SPIDER-MAN 2.

    MILES better than THE AVENGERS.

Charlton Heston as post apocalyptic gun Jesus.

Boy, Canon really cleaned up in the camera wars.

  • Oblivion 2013

    ★★★ Watched 15 Apr, 2013

Has a few too many concepts going on to do any of them (or any characters' stories) real justice, but the one that links them together is fairly interesting. Great visuals and score. Probably twenty to thirty minutes too long - there's a stretch where the story just grinds to a halt after having built a fair bit of momentum and intrigue.

Miles better than Tron Legacy at any rate. Maybe Joseph Kosinski's next movie will be full-blown good!

  • Christine 1983

    ★★★½ Watched 07 Apr, 2013

Let down by a typically underwhelming King ending, but the buildup to it is vintage Carpenter. And even B-level Carpenter in this, his heyday, is better than most.

  • Trance 2013

Never before has genital-shaving been used as so prominent a plot point. Outside of porn, of course.

  • It's Such a Beautiful Day 2012

    I found this very distressing.

  • Showgirls 1995

    ★★ Watched 13 Mar, 2013

This is a movie populated almost exclusively with horrible, horrible people doing horrible, horrible things. But I can't fault it for lack of ambition. A big-budget exploitation film indeed.
