ErixAntoine’s review:
Spectacularly cast comic book western is Lawrence Kasdan's enthusiastic tribute to the movies he grew up with. And, because he's so eager to pay tribute, he crams it with pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. Then he sticks a few more things in and, by the time he's done, you feel like you watched 5 movies. So... It's not the tightest of films. But the characters are fun and there's plenty of action and shootouts throughout. All adorned with a splendid score by Bruce Broughton. And, yeah, that cast... Might be the best one ever assembled for one film in the 80s. Pretty much every single character, right down to bit parts, is a familiar face. I don't know if this movie's stock has risen or fallen since 1985, but I'd say it's definitely worth a look.
