Epic 2013
Whilst the tress genuinely look lovely, and the 3D is mostly decent, Epic misses the point of cinema at its very core, and the title is setting the bar far too high for what is ultimately a middlingly small-scale adventure (Pun not intended) full of under-written characters and nothing particularly funny for anyone over 6.

Our Children 2012
To speak a lot about Our Children ultimately does it a disservice, it is a wonderfully made little drama which moves slowly but surely to boiling point in what might be one of the most shocking climaxes in recent cinema.

21 & Over 2013
21 & Over just about brings a smile to your face, and makes the 90 minutes relatively palatable. You could do a lot worse, but you might just want to skip the movie and go straight for the drink.

A.C.O.D. 2013
It's big, it's broad at times, and wouldn't go amiss if a major studio were to release it mid-summer, it's a great, audience-winning film full of charm, wit, heart and honesty with an amazing performance by its cast.

Mud 2013
A magnificent follow up to Take Shelter, with similar tone and yet a stronger, more fulfilling outcome.

In a World... 2013
Lake Bell's feature debut certainly has a whole heap of moments, some memorable lines and sweet moments, but overall In A World... feels a little half-baked, it could have done with a stronger central voice.

Iron Man 3 2013
This may not be the last time an Iron Man film is made, but it may certainly be the best one they'll make.

Touchy Feely 2013
For Lynn Shelton this is a real misstep, but to see such a great cast lined up for it only makes the blow harder to swallow. Easy not to recommend, I’d go as far as saying don’t even touch it.

The Kings of Summer 2013
It's a nostalgic, funny and emotional film that really yearns for simpler days. With a strong cast, clever writing and wonderful direction, the third act may find itself falling down a few too many holes, but there's still so much to enjoy.

The Moo Man 2013
Like an extended episode of Countryfile, The Moo Man meanders around pretty images of the country and animals being generally loud and going off on their own. A happy story here, a few sad stories and a lot of shots of birthing cattle make The Moo Man an oddity, not quite palatable or intriguing, but not an obnoxious experience, just not really an experience at all. Pleasant, but not engagingly so.

Upstream Color 2013
Mind control maggots, pigs or fate, love conquers all, white flowers turning blue is a conspiracy. If any of that makes sense, congratulations, you're Shane Carruth and you've just made your second feature.

Peaches Does Herself 2012
Scary Movie V can breath a sigh of relief, now Peaches Does Herself exists, it's no longer the most tedious 70 minutes of cinema in 2013.
