High Tension 2005

Fabian’s review:
High Tension, or Switchblade Romance to give it the UK title (which is far better in my opinion), is one of the more shocking films I have seen recently. Throughout the entire running time Aja creates a gripping tension that just won't let go of you. Sprinkled across are some of the most realistic gore scenes in film history. Seriously, these scenes look and sound like real people are actually getting murdered brutally rather than actors.
These gore scenes however do not distract the viewers from the plot and are necessary to keep up the disturbing tension which is this movie's strongest aspect.
The ending, which a lot of people have been infuriated by, actually makes sense if you really think about it and hopefully shouldn't ruin the movie for you. I myself couldn't believe they were doing it when I saw it, but after a while I started to see as to how it would actually make sense and as a result made me like the film even more.
Highly recommended, as long as you can take extreme violence.
