I'm going to start using my "reviews" here mostly to catalogue the things I found memorable in each movie, since I'm really enjoying savoring those memorable moments rather than trying to deal with movies as a whole, especially immediately after watching them. Hence, there will probably always be spoilers.
Memorable moments/favorite things.
- Edward Norton's entrance, and the general lack of accent consistency.
- "Did he just throw my cat out the window?" "No, I don't think so."
- The prison escape, especially going through the guard's quarters, followed by them nicking away at the iron bars with their tiny tools.
- The entire convoluted process with the monks on the mountaintop.
- The snow chase.
- Willem Dafoe hurtling off the cliff. "Holy shit, you got him!"
- Saoirse Ronan sticking her head through the roof, followed by the police guys talking about a girl being decapitated - great transition
- Edward Norton's head popping in randomly when Adrien Brody starts chasing Saoirse Ronan up the stairs. So WTF.
- The careful composition (almost not worth mentioning with Anderson, but it is, as always, perfect).
- The aspect ratios - I knew this was in it, but I didn't realize the majority of it would be full-frame, and I love that it was.
