@Steve; Marebito is incredibly haunting, there isn't any film that is quite like it. I've been actually wanting to re-watch Marebito since making this list, might do so tonight.
@Robert; I've seen and love both. I have a personal liking to Metropolitan more than Last Days..., but both are terrific. Was very happy to see both of 'em get BD upgrades from Criterion too.
I have to disagree with Metropolitan, I think is a well regarded film, and like you Jake I am waiting for next week to pick up this in glorious 1080p Criterion Blu-ray.. I don't know if you know but B&N has Criterion tittles at 50% off.. is a sweet deal if you ask me.
Versus is such an entertaining and good time to watch. Love it! Also wasn't sure about how well known Metropolitan is, so assumed it was fairly unknown. And yes, the B&N 50% off sale loves to empty my wallet, haha.
Marebito is one of those films that you don't realise how amazing it is until it's finished. An extraordinary film.
If you liked Metropolitan you should definitely watch Last Days of Disco, if you haven't already. SO much better.
