there are few movies that have caused such a reaction as to give me panic attacks halfway through viewing, and this is one. playful, oblique, always intense and undoubtedly incredible. I just really don't know what to say about it yet.
it's been abt five mins and I feel my frustration growing w/all the lost potential here. this is cute and almost pulls off a very simplistic (as Neil Bahadur noted, very Brechtian) trick of bookending the film w/two elongated dream sequences, but the latter w/bittersweetness of reality... conceptually and somewhat w/in its execution, this is a heartwrenching move.
