There have been some truly terrible films surrounding the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts but I think you’ll struggle to find one quite as bad as 31 North 62 East. This is a super low budget British thriller about the Prime Minister selling the location of an SAS unit to secure a lucrative arms deal. For a supposed thriller it isn’t remotely exciting or intriguing seeing as you are privy to everything that happens in this tortuously slow paced drivel.
John Rhys-Davies tries his best in a badly written role as the corrupt and morally bankrupt Prime Minister. The whole script is laden with cliched dialogue and unconvincing characters whilst the cast is predominantly made up of bad ex-soap actors. The whole thing is incredibly uneventful, partly because all of the good action occurs off-screen to bypass budgetary constraints and partly because nothing happens for the whole sorry mess. Avoid.
