This is a charming and inventive take on the life of a married man with wandering eyes getting lessons from a buddy who is "in the know" on how to be a "playboy" and not get caught. Dancer/actor and screen giant Gene Kelly directs here, amazingly without any dancing what-so-ever. He has a knack for fun comedies and he directs Walter Matthau and a huge cast of mega-stars in cameo appearances very well. This is Matthau pre-Odd Couple even. Turning up in brief and very fun spots are Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, Joey Bishop, Sid Caesar, Art Carney, Carl Reiner, Phil Silvers, Jeffrey Hunter and more.
