Accepted
2006 Directed by Steve Pink
Synopsis
When every college turned them down. . . they made one up.
After receiving rejection letters from eight colleges, Bartleby Gaines and his slacker friends fool their parents into thinking they've been accepted at the South Harmon Institute of Technology, a university of their own invention. The only problem is, the boys have somehow managed to attract a freshman class of rejects just like them. Can the South Harmon coeds compete in a battle of wits with students from a neighboring college?

Lazy smartarse Justin Long fails to get into college, so he invents a fictional one - which soon becomes horribly real. This campus comedy starts off very funnily, goes nasty and offensive (the college is a former psychiatric hospital, resulting in a slew of mental illness gags), then settles into mediocrity, before turning oddly pious at the close, as Long launches an impassioned defence of his establishment's non-conformist method of learning, which as far as I can tell from the rest of the film involves listening to broad if agreeable anti-corporate sentiments, and watching people ride motorbikes into swimming pools. Still, Long and especially Jonah Hill make the most of it. "This is awesome," Hill says as they enter the abandoned hospital for the first time, "'cause now I can finally get hepatitis!"

Accepted is one of my favorite "guilty pleasures," that I enjoy watching over and over again, simply because its fun. It has some great moments and even an amazing cast, including Justin Long, who I am a personal fan of, Jonah Hill, Columbus Short, and Blake Lively, all of whom have moved on to bigger things since this film. Yet, what I love most about this film is that it doesn’t take itself seriously. The story is full of flaws, the dialogue can be cheesy like an 80's movie, and all of that is exactly why it’s such a good film. I mean Jonah Hill in a wiener costume, a guy blowing stuff up with his mind and shock therapy... what more could you possibly ask for?

It would be cool if stuff like this could really happen.

Great cast, great music. A good funny movie.

Accepted is an attempt at a feel good movie without resorting to crude humour or gratuitous nudity. In my opinion it probably should have.

Accepted is a dumb movie for dumb people but that was ok, because for once I wanted to watch something with my brain switched off. It’s a college movie about a guy (Barnaby something played by Justin Long) who gets rejected from college, so he and his friends decide to start their own. This premise essentially sets up an hour and a half of goofy college humour with the only minor conflict appearing late in the third act when the “South Harmon Institute of Technology” or “S.H.I.T” is threatened with closure. As stupid and pointless as it was, I enjoyed it for its cheap entertainment thanks to a heck of a lot of cheesy dialogue and some good laughs from Jonah Hill.

Yet another funny college film that was never funny as many made it out to be.

Just a good old laughter movie. Although you know this stuff can't and won't happen for real it just creates a fun storyline. Yea the movie does have some flaws but hey they do have a point;
Don't judge people on their looks!Nice 3,5

Classic College Comedy.
I laughed throughout and so should you.
This movie prompted me to watch Battle Royale and I'm glad I did! -
It's stupid and utterly impossible, but I enjoyed it. Good if you just want to veg out in front of the TV.
