This is like a film that would be played, on mute, in the background during a party at your weird friend's house while he plays Ministry on a CD-R and some guy named Trevor talks about how he hates his job at Best Buy.

It looks great and has a very interesting premise (it also has a highly unexpected Pete Postlethwaite cameo!) but it's hamstrung by a terrible script, clumsy action editing, appalling techno music (it's an MTV movie! The score's not all bad though), it's too camp in places, the support acting is of the decidedly wooden variety and it has a main character called Trevor.

Festival is done, back to watching shit.

A virus wiped out 99% of the world population until a cure has been found and the remnants of society live in a artificial walled city shielded from nature. At first glance it seems like the perfect civilized society until more and more women disappear and a rebellion is started against the authority which has ruled the city for 400 years.
A movie build around a theme like this provides a lot of potential to make a great movie, unfortunately it doesn't hit the mark. Which doesn't say it is a bad movie at all. Borrowing quite heavily from movies such as the Matrix, the lead Charlize Theron look rather stunning in her slim outfits which shows off her great…

This seems to keep happening - I see a movie around the time it comes out and think it was just horrible - Like SUPER-awful, dont-tell-your-friends-about-it-for-shame-of-having-seen-it-in-the-first-place awful. Flash-forward a few years and some combination of boredom and bad luck results in a re-watch. Now, lo and behold! Aeon Flux is better than half the the studio-pix I've seen in the theatre so far this year. Yes, I just said that sentence. Now, this seems like a relatively engaging (and somewhat original) futuristic, assassination-thriller. Draw whatever conclusion you want for my softening on this one: bad taste, substandard recent Hollywood-fare, Alzheimer's, whatever. I'm standing by the rating - heck, it might even go up more in the future.

I felt like I was on drugs for two hours. Turns out it was just a shitty movie.

Yeah, it took me a while to get to this piece of trash. What a huge disappointment compared to the lovely insane animated series. The one good thing I can say is that they did a good job building up scenery to be reminiscent of the show. It made me remember specific scenes.

Despite some flaws, this film is very solid. A decent plot (surprising me entirely, being an MTV film) and some very good special effects and CGI. Weak acting and emotion draw it down, though Theron's looks bring it up a little bit. It's not great, but I think it gets more bad reviews than it deserves. A fun watch indeed.

Better than I expected. As long as I remembered that it was based on a graphic novel, it seemed okay.

Vi con mis hijas Æon Flux (Kuzama, 2005), sofisticado alarde visual que merecía un guión creíble y mejor actuación...

This movie starts and ends well, but the middle is slow beyond slow with a muddled explanation of how we got to this point. Even in CGI Theron is impressive.

This movie is so bad I forgot I watched it and trolled myself into watching it again.
+Charlize Theron in leather.
-Everything else.
