After.Life (complete with its bizarre use of a full stop) is unfortunately pretty average falling short of 3 stars. This is mainly down to its numerous plot holes and assumptions that just creep up on you as moments pass after the end credits roll.
Written and Directed by the unknown Agnieszka Wojtowicz-Vosloo, After.Life has a rather good idea that unfortunately spirals somewhat out of focus. It's all packaged as a Horror / Thriller but never actually gets anywhere near horrifying or thrilling, however it's not all bad news.
We have a cast of real merit that help the film along nicely... Liam Neeson plays the rather sinister funeral director well, with a decent blend of concerned…

For a good cast this is a really lame film.

If you want a good look at Christina Ricci's boobs this is the film for you.
Plot - poor
Acting - debatable
Direction - questionable -

Pretentious metaphysical thriller is visually stylish enough to hold off from cringing to repetitive and goofy dialogue for a while - but it spreads its narrative premise so thin so that any interest has long vanished by the time we arrive to the final twist.

I enjoyed this more than I should have. A naked Christina Ricci will do that.

'Is he or isn't he?' dragged out way too far. This one should have made a choice sooner and explored it deeper.

OK film about a woman who has a car accident and does not know whether she is dead or not. A confused film that does not know what it wants to be.

Justin Long needs a haircut. Liam Neeson wears Crocs. Christina Ricci wears mostly nothing. It’s no classic but AFTER.LIFE is a decent enough little ghost story.

The idea behind the story is interesting, what happens when you die? Is there something like an in between place? Do people know they are dead? Is there an after life? Are there people who can talk to the dead?
Unfortunately the movie does not elaborate much on it. What is does do is show Ricci naked for most of the time which is completely unnecessary, but I'm not complaining. I guess that was the only reason I had it on my watchlist.
