All Summer in a Day

This short PBS film is based on the Ray Bradbury story of the same name. Set on Venus, a planet where it rains constantly, a group of children wait expectantly for the sun to appear, an event that only occurs once a decade. One child, who remembers experiencing the sun back on Earth, is bullied and locked in a room by the other children who don’t believe her stories.
Although set on another planet it isn’t exactly a sci-fi film, instead it is a morality play about faith, the cruelty of children and trying to atone for your mistakes. At only 25 minutes the film is the perfect length for such a simple story. It captures the pettiness and rivalry…

I remember being terrified by this at about 8 or 9 years old. As far as depicting human behavior goes, it's pretty accurate.
