Anger Management
2003 Directed by Peter Segal
Synopsis
Feel the Love.
After a misunderstanding aboard an airplane that escalates out of control, the mild-mannered Dave Buznik is ordered by Judge Daniels to attend anger management sessions run by Doctor Buddy Rydell, which are filled with highly eccentric and volatile men and women. Buddy's unorthodox approach to therapy is confrontational and abrasive and Dave is bewildered by it. Then, after yet another mishap, Judge Daniels orders Dave to step up his therapy or wind up in jail. So, Buddy moves in with Dave to help him battle his inner demons. Buddy himself has no inner demons since he acts out at every opportunity and that includes making lewd comments about Dave's girlfriend Linda and goading Dave into confronting every slight, past or present, head-on. But Buddy finally goes too far and Dave must decide whether to crawl back into his shell or stand up for himself. Could it be that Buddy's confounding and contradictory treatment is just what the doctor ordered?

This is the monk that twisted your tits.
I find Jack Nicholson hilarious in this, he's like a little devil on your shoulder telling you to do all these evil things and then making everything worse. I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and gayyyyyyy.

Part of my project to watch every Jack Nicholson film
The first film of my journey into the world of Jack Nicholson and his aurally stimulating voice.
This was Adam Sandler's last film that I actually thought was good, and obviously it's all down to the screen presence of Mr. Nicholson and his wonderfully slapstick comedic performance. It uses the typical template of an Adam Sandler film: it's extremely implausible, has whacky dialogue and an preposterously happy ending, but unlike the majority of his other films, I actually found this funny. It's extremely enjoyable, which is enough to compensate for it's sheer stupidity.

Dear Mr. Sandler,
Calm your ass down.
I don't mean you have to put a lid on your anger, but with all the bad films you've put out especially over the past couple years, enough is enough. The bullshit has to stop sooner or later.
How the hell you'd make a great film with a great performance in Punch Drunk Love and then follow up on this shit I'll never understand...Love,
A concerned citizen,
Me.PS...
Stop the bullshit.

Avoided this for years due to a dislike of Adam Sandler.
Worth seeing for Jack's crazy assed performance alone!

Only watched this because today is Jack Nicholson's birthday & I felt like seeing him in something I've never seen before.
Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The ending is pretty bad but the rest of the film has some funny moments.
Sander did his thing, and Nicholson did his, but Jack does his thing a whole lot better.
Great cameos by Heather Graham, John C. Reilly & Woody Harrelson and horrible cameos by the NY Yankees & Mayor Giuliani.Happy Birthday, Jack.

The ending of this movie is absolutely ridiculous, one of the most retarded ending I have ever seen.
Even if the borderline insulting ending is put to one side this is still a bad film. Its not particularly funny, which as a comedy is pretty much a death sentence.
Jack Nicholson is good but his character is so implausible that you are baffled as to how he has become an anger therapist. Till the stupid ending comes in and tries to fix all the huge plot holes.
Anger Management left me feeling bemused because the whole film is so ridiculous I don't understand how anyone green lit this film.

Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler co-star in a film that before I began watching I had (almost) mistakenly decided that I automatically had to be a fan of due entirely to the fact Nicholson plays a lead role.
The premise ISN'T simple. Nicholson, one of my favourite actors, has to guide the mild mannered Sandler, an actor who persistently frustrates me, through an anger management course that follows a somewhat baffling chain of events in the first few scenes of the film. Sounds like it could be a hilarious pairing right? Well, it kinda isn't.
Don't get me wrong the film is funny, laugh out loud funny in one particular scene that sees an uncredited John C Reilly star in…

Funny but lacked at certain points. Loved the scene with Adam Sandler singing "I'm so pretty." Jack was funny and balanced being annoying and not. Marisa Tomei loved, and Adam was okay.

A respectable Sandler film, especially with Mr. Nicholson.
