I’ve finally found it; I’ve finally found the worst movie shown on the Syfy channel. It is a pretty impressive achievement given how many terrible films they have helped distribute over the past decade.
Arctic Predator stars Dean Cain and a cast of no-name monster fodder with dubious foreign accents as they battle an alien ice monster-thingy. It is impossible to convey just how downright terrible the creature effects are. Even CGI in the ‘80s was more convincing than this but at least it provides some unintentional enjoyment. Sadly the rest of the film is entertainment free with a story that is far too similar to The Thing (I wonder if Cain’s character name - JC - is a nod to Carpenter and how much he has inspired this story?) but obviously without the interesting characters, great music and sense of foreboding dread and paranoia. Spectacularly stupid and spectacularly bad.

Very typical syfy-production with a decent pace and the usual sfx. Pleasant viewing in that very Syfy way.
